36 seconds of destruction. Haiti One year later ...

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI - JANUARY 9: In this co...Image by Getty Images via @daylifeIt was a year ago today Haiti  was shook to its knees, one year later the Haiti is still struggling to get back on her feet . One year later and 95% of the rubble still  lays where it fell, one year later bodies are still being exhumed from the buildings that became their graves. One year later and not one reconstruction project has begun. Out of the 5Billion dollars that the world donated to Haiti not much of it has actually been received.
Lets not forget Haiti.
Do whatever you can...

"Earthquake we seen the earth shake but the soul of the haitian people it will never break!" Wyclef Jean

Donate Now: 1-877-99-HAITI in US/Canada, or go to www.hopeforhaitinow.org

Wyclef and his band's performance was not only patriotic but moved hearts across the world. A tribute to all the people of his country, friends lost, Fan Fan and rapper Jimmy O . Through song and dance he sends a message of hope "Earthquake we seen the earth shake but the soul of the haitian people it will never break!"

Wyclef Jean and George Clooney worked together to organize participants and funds for "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" telethon presented by MTV. The telethon was broadcasted from New York, London, Los Angeles and Haiti. 60 countries and 60 international networks aired the Telethon. "Hope for Haiti Now" has to be one of the biggest charitable efforts ever organized. All proceeds from the telecast will be split among five organizations working on the ground in Haiti: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, American Red Cross, UNICEF and Yele Haiti.

Haiti Stories of faith hope prayer kindness and the miracle of survival...

It’s like I said a couple days ago the people of Haiti are survivors. Their faith in the Almighty God through the most testing of times seems unmoveable among the unimaginable death and destruction on the Island. In Haiti that spirit of strength faith and survival is still present still fighting, and thank God still strong.
Here are some video clips of such stories let’s hope, pray and continue to do whatever we can for the survivors in Haiti and may their faith and spirit of survival grow stronger...

Haiti's Earthquake Destruction: TIME Exclusive Photographs

Haiti's Earthquake Destruction: TIME Exclusive Photographs

Why We Owe it to Haiti to help them.

Haiti is on my mind people.
HAITI IS ON MY MIND!
Caribbean’s need to know and understand how much we owe to Haiti and how important it is to us and them that we stand up and help them in their greatest time of need.
I cannot emphasise to you what or where or how the people of Haiti have survived the many hardships they have survived for hundreds of years, but they as a people, have.  I found this sires of videos that can give you an idea how Haiti became the first Black Republic . Like I said before the Haitian Revolution was the only successful Slave Revolt in history, these people back then kicked the collative asses of the French, Spanish, and British, in other words this pearl of the French Empire defeated every world power of the day, something we should never forget, it was this revolution, that triggered others in the region, it is because of the stand these people made for freedom that the monster that was slavery had to recoil  and many others were then emancipated.
It is this revolution believe it or not, that lead to in Trinidad what we call the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ our freedom celebration, in more ways than one... WE ARE FREE BECAUSE HAITIANS FOUGHT FOR FREEDOM AND WON.
And then, they were made to pay Europeans for their actions for centuries to follow.

Haiti Needs Your Help...

I got this statement from the Wyclef Jean website, the way I see it, if your thinking of donating monies it might as well be on his web site. So let’s all do what we can for our neighbours in Haiti they need us now more than ever...

“Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced.
The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince.

I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now.
President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’ the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible.”

Many people have already reached out to see what they can do right now. We are asking those interested to please do one of two things: Either you can use your cell phone to text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill), or you can visit Yele.org and click on DONATE.
