GENESIS 2007


Well I have a feeling that Carnival 2k7 is truly going to be one of the best ever!
I mean every year this is said, but from the band launches alone I truly think this is gonna be the BEST ONE YET.

Reason being i think all the band so far have truley lifted their game, IP and their theme so far is much better than last years in my opinion,Tribe has taken on a theme of true cultural substance, a challange in its own right, Pluse8, have a theme that is played out but there are slight improvements in costume design,......slight. Dream Team have taken on an intresting theme also, i wonder if these bands are uping their styles as their target markets get older?


The Genesis presentation for 2007 “In The Name Of Troy” seemed to almost go unnoticed on the World Carnival Radar over the weekend, but it seems that Ian Mackenzie and Co have pulled of a pleasant surprise with this creative, colourful, and quite original looking presentation.

If the creative use of fabrics and the styles of costumes that were put on show are a hint of what the band has in store for next year, I sincerely hope that Genesis does have a good turn out on the streets of Port of Spain, for it will be a beautiful sight to behold.

It is good that Genesis has raised their game over the past 3 years, it seems that they have grown from strength to strength, this shows that at least some thinking is going on at the top, and a creative direction is being followed, I would like to see what the other more successful half of the old Legends break up is going to present for next year .
